"Little things empowers individuals to change lives - both their own and the young women who are experiencing new possibilities through education.  Everyone brings their own gift - through jewelry making, sponsorship, sharing stories, or even just buying a pair of earrings, they become a part of a larger, exciting process of sustainable transformation"

Growing up in Gemena (DRC) opened my eyes to many things, mostly how few opportunities existed, particularly for women. A new born girl was literally called "a waste" considering that society had already defined who we were, where we could go, and what we could do. Today, as I look back, I think of all the friends, cousins, and classmates that did give up on this journey of becoming, simply because challenging our world was the most unthinkable odd.

This is what I started littlethings organization as a way of responding to my community and of creating positive changes in the Congo. My dream is to be a source of inspiration for girls in my country and stand by them as they struggle to find a voice of their own. My ultimate desire is to see women take positive action in realizing their ambitions.
